A Reflection; and a Thank You

Everyone is loving hot pink and orange right now, and they’re certainly bold, cheery colours.

Hello; how ARE you?

Everything has changed and it could well be a long time before life is back to normal. At first, we worried we would miss out on so much, but actually lockdown has given us a chance to pause; to reflect. Some of us may have realised we don’t actually want to just ‘go back to normal’. Some of us have really learnt to value friends and family. Some, who shall remain nameless, have discovered that lack of time was NOT the obstacle to decluttering/starting to paint watercolours/learning a new language.

Life Goes On

Through the height of the Covid19 crisis, with health worries, concerns for older and vulnerable people, loneliness - but also very real financial concerns and fears for the future. So, yes, it has been a tough time; a scary time for some; and a stressful time for many. But life does go on. HOW it goes on may well be different, but go on it does, and, in the words of the powerhouse of inspiration, Maya Angelou, “You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them.”

Flair and Laughter

What has kept you going? Zoom chats and virtual quizzes? Walks in the sunshine? Or simply avoiding the madness of the school run? At My Exquisite… we have LOVED hearing from our customers – our friends from  near and far. Receiving your replies to our weekly newsletters has often made our day. It has been simply lovely to keep in touch and to hear how you are all getting on.  Thank you.

Thank you also to everyone who has continued to shop with us. It just shows, doesn’t it? Treating yourself, a loved one, or a friend, to something lovely, is not necessarily frivolous, and it can really help to lift spirits. To quote Ms. Angelou once again, we should “determine to live life with flair and laughter.” A beautiful, bright new handbag sure helps with the flair.

Brighter Days

As we head into Summer, aspects of life are beginning to restart. Bars and restaurants are already planning how to operate, and maybe even holidays are on the horizon. Stay positive, there is much to look forward to.

To brighten your days, have a little look through the website. And remember, if you are still not getting out and about, or someone you know needs a treat from afar, we’ve sent lots of bags to people as gifts along with a special message to the recipient. Bags last longer than flowers!

How do you Solve a Problem Like Maria?

We have some very colourful new bags – think Summer sunsets, evening cocktails or azure skies. Practical AND stylish, with six lush colour choices, Maria is great for day or evening, with a detachable shoulder strap. The yellow, tan and pink shades are reminiscent of Neapolitan ice cream! Maybe that’s just us, missing Italian gelato… The only problem with Maria is which colour to choose.

Eternal Classic Camila – and More

Everyone is loving hot pink and orange right now, and they’re certainly bold, cheery colours. Our ever-popular Camila comes in over THIRTY colours across the spectrum. The new colours in the collection include a zesty, zingy lime and a pretty aqua.  Take a look at Honey, too. A classic, wide-strapped bag with designer good looks. The bright red is a winner and will see you day to night, summer or winter. Fresh, grass green is also proving popular - if that’s your preference, we have lots to choose from.

Delight in the Beauty

At the risk of coming over a little bit emosh, we really do appreciate each and every one of you. We have been surprisingly busy and are so incredibly grateful for your support. As we approach our third birthday we are looking to the future. After all, “yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift, that’s why they call it the present.” Nope. That’s not Maya Angelou. That was Kung Fu Panda. Talk about sublime to the ridiculous…

It seems apt to end with another pearl of wisdom, courtesy of Maya Angelou: “We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty.” Life as we knew it has changed, for now. We need embrace that change and to make the most of what we can do.
